FITZPATRICK, JACQUELINE MAE

(JACQUI)

Passed away at home with family by her side on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the age of 75.  Survived by her loving husband Hugh of 58 years, daughter Sheilagh Fitzpatrick of Kelowna, son Dock (Cathy) of Kelowna, daughter Shaune (Terry) Stewart of Lake Country; grandchildren: Jordan (AJ) Wilson, Cecily Wilson, Ariane Wilson, Jonathan (Andi)

Fitzpatrick, Taeya (Adrian) Boruta, Kaeli Fitzpatrick, Britney Stewart, Katelyn Stewart, Amanda (Mike) Morley; great grandchildren: Jakob and Zakary Wilson; sisters: Sheila Lang of Saskatoon, Faye (Ken) Morcombe of Penticton,

Betty-Ann (Reg) Ernst of Winnipeg and numerous nieces, nephews and her extended family.

Jacqui was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 7, 1939.  She moved to Penticton in 1952 with her family.  At the age of 16 she was the favourite Peach Queen festival candidate for the Penticton Junior Chamber of Commerce.  Jacqui met Hugh while working at the Prince Charles hotel.  They eventually married and moved to Rutland. Jacqui spent many years involved with the Rutland Boy Scouts as a Cub leader (Balou) and supported the Rutland Juvenile

soccer by driving young players around the valley for games. She was the leading sales lady at Baird's Apparel (later Jamie K) in downtown Kelowna until the store closed in 1980.  Jacqui operated the fresh fruit sales at McLean & Fitzpatrick from 1982 to 1985. She went on to operate the concession at the Rutland Arena as a private contractor.  She will be remembered by the minor hockey community for her many years at the arena starting the hearts of the parents with her 50 cent coffee. She retired from the

concession business in 2000 and turned her attention to her family.  Her focus was her family and her family was her life's project.  She is already sorely missed. The world was a better place with her than without.
