James Taylor Scorgie passed away at Kelowna General Hospital on March 8, 2017.  He was born in Moose Jaw, Sask. on December 13, 1926.    He is predeceased by his parents Sam and Hazel Scorgie, his brother Don and his wife Lilyan,  the mother of his children.

He was soundly converted to Christ in 1943.  After high school in Toronto, Jim graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1950 and later from UBC in Vancouver. He entered the full time ministry pastoring churches for 17 years in B.C., Ontario, and Saskatchewan.  Following that he had a career change and was employed by the Federal Government for over 20 years by the Department of Manpower and Immigration in the Toronto area.

In 1989 Jim and Lilyan retired to Kelowna and sadly 10 years later Lilyan passed away.

Jim later married Rita Beitel who survives him.  He is also survived by his son Glen (Kate), daughter Ruthanne (Ross), grandchildren Claire (Bill), Catherine (Cale), Sarah, Jaimie (Katie), Liz (Nick), great grandchildren Billy, Bode, Josephine, Noah, Jacob, Oliver and Rita’s family, children Susan (James), Sheryl (Len), grandchildren Alyssa (Josiah), Ben (Alana), Nick (Michelle), Lukas (Trina), Emily, great-grandchildren Raelle, Layla, Solomon, Georgia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1st at Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC at 11:00 am.  His remains will be buried in Edgar, Ontario (north of Barrie).
