It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Jan Wypych. On Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the age of 66, in the Central Okanagan hospice house, he lost a courageous battle with cancer, family at his side. Born in Detmold, Germany, June 20, 1950, son of the late Jan Wypych, Charlotte Eder and step father Joseph Eder. Passionately loved pre-deceased son Jan. Survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, son Mark and Cherie Wypych, granddaughters Chelsea and Kimberly, sisters; Kristine Swain; Regina and Rodney Krezek; brothers Joseph, Sharon Eder; George, Suzanne Eder; Peter, Ronda Eder; Rolland Eder; Denny, Connie Eder; and numerous nieces and nephews.Jan will be remembered for his loving devotion to his family and kind nature. He made many friends through his walk of life with a genuine smile and hello. Never passed someone in need without a helping hand. Also, never quit when the cards were stacked against him, always found a way to blossom. Truly was a rare person with integrity and respect.The family would like to thank his fellow colleagues at Andrew Peller Estates, Dr Micheal Hopman and the staff at the Hospice for the outpouring support, kindness, professionalism and care through this emotional time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations are made out to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, 1456 St. Paul Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 2E6.A visitation/viewing, will be held at Valleyview Funeral Home, 165 Valleyview Road, Kelowna, BC from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Friday February 3, 2017.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017, also at Valleyview Funeral Home.
