September 23, 1938 - September 24, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jack Hamer-Jackson (John) on September 24th just one day after his 83rd birthday with his wife Sisko and sons Rick and Brad by his side.
Jack was born in Powell River to his mother Violet and father Roland (Chasney) Jack spent most of his young life enjoying life in North Vancouver where he spent time on the Capilano River and many years making lifelong friends at the Deep Cove water ski club.
Jack was a bricklayer in his younger years and moved on to succeed in many different sales jobs but ultimately became known as the guy that "loved to sell real estate" as the Hamer-Jackson name became synonymous with residential real estate in North Vancouver.
Jack was well known in the community as a guy that had the big smile and told it to you straight. Jack was known for his ability to be a great friend who always took interest in what was happening in your life. He was a great listener who always had the right advice or a witty response. He had a great sense of humour and always ready for a laugh and even better if it was over a stiff drink!
Jack cherished his wife Sisko of 54 years of marriage and always had a way to make her, her friends and sisters feel special. They loved to travel together and socialize with their many cherished friends and family.
Their retired years were spent at "the lakehouse" on Wood Lake and many winters down South in Palm Desert.
Jack had many things to be proud of but none more than his 2 sons Rick and Brad. The 3 of them enjoyed their younger years dirt biking in the hills of Kamloops with their cousins. Later came many road bike trips, golf trips, BBQ's, and their traditional Masters Sundays. All of which were always accompanied with laughter, story telling, great food and a ton of "doubles".
Jack was a special pappa to his wonderful grand daughter Ella and will be remembered as a loving grandfather by his other 3 grandchildren Hope, Sam and Alley. He loved both his daughter in laws Tammy and Melanie and was always quick with a compliment when they were in his presence.
Jack had a knack for making people feel special, had an immensely strong love for life and was always willing to help. He had a great way with children and made friends mentored all who were friends with his 2 boys. More than anything he loved and respected his wife Sisko!
In lieu of any gifts or flowers the family has asked that any donations to Hospice House of Central Okanagan would be greatly appreciated. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online obituary @ www.MyAlternatives.ca
