IN LOVING MEMORY OF

JOHN SCHAFFER

May 18th, 1924 - August 20th, 2012

John passed away peacefully

in Kelowna on August 20th, 2012. He was born and

raised on a farm near Francis,

Saskatchewan. John proudly served with the Canadian

Tank Command during WWII

in France, Belgium and

Germany. He spent many

years working with Canadian Western Natural Gas Company

in Calgary. In 1969, John and

his first wife, Anne, moved to

Vernon. Anne passed away in 1973. Several years later,

he married Mildred, his loving wife of 31 years.

John is survived by his children: Larry (Rosemary), Diane (Bill) and Glen; grandchildren: Jonathan, Jason (Magenta): great grandchildren, Coen and Clark; and his brother Norm. He is further survived by Millie’s family: Wayne (Gerri), Wendy (Clay) Jim, Sherry (Dale), Don (Joyce), and their families, who have all shared his life for the past 31 years.

The family extends their thanks to Dr. Joshua, the staff of

Interior Health, and all the wonderful staff at Village at Mill Creek for the caring and support shown to John and the family during his illness.

The Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Tuesday,

August 28th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Father Dale Normandeau

officiating. Following the inurnment at Pleasant Valley

Cemetery a reception will be held in the Tea Room.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association.
