(1923 - 2008) Born in London, England on February 23, 1923, Josephine passed away peacefully in Kelowna on February 5, 2008. She was grew up in London and spent the time during World War II as a member of the R.A.F. working in communications. After the war, she came to Canada to be with her husband, Syd Brooks (a pilot) whom she had met during the war. They settled in Meath Park, Saskatchewan and farmed there. Josephine had three sons, Lorne, Philip and Robin. Later, she and her family moved to Air Force base, Navaid near Edmonton. Her husband, Syd passed away in 1985. Josephine moved to Kelowna in 1990. During her life she enjoyed reading, wildlife charities, women's rights issues and had worked with such groups as Amnesty International, the S.P.C.A., World Wild Life Fund and the David Suzuki Foundation. No formal services will be held by request, Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the above mentioned charities, would be appreciated.
