TAYLOR: JOYCE

Passed away peacefully on May 11, 2014 at Central Okanagan Hospice House with her family by her side at the age of 77 years. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Keith Taylor and three daughters: Sheryl McFadden, husband Ross of Lacombe, Alberta, and Leslie Hirsch, husband Byron of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Susan Wells, husband Trevor of Kelowna, BC. beloved grandchildren: Paddy and Andy McFadden, Derek (Ashley), James (Kim), Mark Hirsch, Courtney, Jennifer, Kirsten, Thomas Wells and great grandchildren Emery and Sawyer Hirsch. Joyce grew up in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, and then moved to Saskatoon to attend High School and went on to the University of Saskatchewan where she played for the woman’s basketball team. Joyce moved to Calgary with her husband to raise their family and subsequently moved to Kelowna where she worked for 15 years at Cottonwoods Extended Care. Joyce's passion was her family and she devoted her life to her daughters and will be remembered for her optimistic outlook on life and easy going nature. She was an avid golfer and from an early age had a love for horses and dogs. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff and volunteers at the Central Okanagan Hospice House for their kindness as well as her family physician, Dr. Medynski and Dr. Fyles, Dr. Mohamed and Dr. Rao of the Cancer Clinic. We thank you not only for your exemplary care but for always giving Joyce hope and encouragement. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Central Okanagan Hospice House would be appreciated.
