ROSINA KATHLEEN REECE (Nee: Whitecross)

Dec. 14, 1924 - July 31, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosina (Rosie) Reece in Vancouver General Hospital on July 31, 2009. Rosie was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Alice Whitecross and her two sisters Alice and Patricia. Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Reece of Winfield, British Columbia, her brother John and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Rosie will also be dearly missed by the many friends she made throughout her life.

Ken and Rosie married on Christmas Day in 1948 and both shared a love for travel and adventure. They came to British Columbia in 1957 and after spending a short time in Powell River, settled in North Vancouver where Ken

secured employment with Woodwards Stores and

Rosie began working as a waitress. Rosie was always ready for a challenge, and was hired as a seamstress in a sewing factory, learning the trade by watching others. After spending many years in various seamstress positions, her final place of employment was Lions Gate Hospital where she worked in the Extended Care laundry service. Rosie

retired in 1985. In 1986 Ken and Rosie sold their home in North Vancouver and bought a motor home. In 1988 they bought a lot in Holiday Park in Winfield British Columbia and for almost 20 years have enjoyed being 'snow birds' spending the winter months in Sunscape RV Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona. Rosie endeared herself to many dear friends in both her 'homes' doing what she loved - playing cards and bingo. Rosie will be long remembered for her never ending sense of humor and her charming ersonality. A celebration of Rosie's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Holiday Park RV Resort (Okanagan Room). Please come and share your memories with others who feel so blessed to have been a part of Rosie's life. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
