JOHNSON, Kenneth Dale “Ken”. (1939 – 2009) Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday,

December 16, 2009 at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife Laraine, step-daughter Holly Martin (Gerard), grandsons: Owen and Dylan of Penticton; brother Rollie (Val) of High Prairie, AB; sister Reta Read (Paul-deceased) of Baldwinsville, New York; sister-in-law Carolyn Glover (Paul) of Richmond Hill, ON; six nieces; two nephews and their children.  Predeceased by his Mom Lillian (Schmidt) and Dad Reed Johnson.  The family wishes to express their thanks to: Dr. Butterworth, Dr. Bak, Dr. Delorme, Dr. Hoegler, Dr. Brian Bittle, Dr. Wagstaff; nurse Chella and everyone at Hospice House on Ethel Street in Kelowna. 

Ken was with the R.C.A.F. from 1957 to 1979 as an Air Frame Technician, stationed in Saskatoon, SK; in France as 2 Wing, Germany as 3 Wing and North Bay, ON.  From 1979 to 1999, he worked in Sudbury/North Bay, for the Ontario

Government with the Ministry of Labour, Health & Safety as an inspector.  Ken and Laraine enjoyed square dancing with The Westsyde Squares for many years.  A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Mr. Steven Mills officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Central Okanagan Hospice Association – Hospice House, #202-1456 St. Paul Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.
