PETCH, LAURENCE passed away on February 3, 2015 at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his sister Dolores Meynell, his brother-in-law Arthur Kopp and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Vera of 64 years and his brother Doug. Laurence was born and raised in Rutland where he spent his entire life. With his brother Doug, he founded L & D Petch Contracting, Ltd, a very successful local business that he and Doug operated for many years until retirement. Laurence was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Later in life he especially enjoyed RVing with family and friends. He had a strong community commitment, supporting local charities as well as serving for several years on the Board of Directors of Black Mountain Irrigation District. No service by request, but as Laurence was always a great animal lover, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Kelowna SPCA, 3785 Casorso Road, Kelowna, BC.
