Flying Officer Rtd , RAF. Born in London England on November 17th, 1923. As a 17 year old, who was mad about flying, he was thrilled to watch the Battle of Britain taking place over his head. Early in 1943 he joined the Royal Air Force. Following his training he served as mid upper gunner. He spent three years in Egypt, Morocco, Malta and Gibraltar. After his discharge he immigrated to Canada and became a citizen in 1949. Les and his family moved to Kelowna where he enjoyed many friends and continued his passion for writing, He is the author of Flight into Yesterday. He was an active and enthusiastic member of the Air Force Association 883 Wing and the Kelowna Wartime Aircrew Club. He was also a member of Branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Kelowna. Predeceased by his wife Anne, survived by his brother Keith (Kathy) who reside in England and his two step-children Bob and Eleanor of Kelowna and his hour loved grandchildren. Memorial Service will take place in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave on Friday, January 16th, 2009 at 1:30 PM.
