Her compassion and stalwart Christian faith made her a source of strength and hope for many who were privileged to know her. Even total strangers, uncannily, became recipients of Lillian's timely encouragement and sense of hope in their moment of dire need. Lillian was also a passionate writer and published many articles and poems. Lillian was predeceased by her adoring husband in 1986, her two brothers Edward and Bill, and forever will be lovingly remembered by her surviving brother, Walter Epp, sons Steve (Betty) in Hay River, NWT, and Darrell (Surjit) in Lake Country BC, along with their children Jessica, Benjamin and Hannah. Lillian's age was determined not by years but by hLillian was born in the Peace River Country to Peter and Suzannah Epp in 1925 and passed away peacefully in the Kelowna Memorial Hospital on January 29, 2008 at the age of 82. After spending her childhood on the homestead, she pursued a nursing degree in Winnipeg. Her jobs took her around the country and soon she ended up at the NechakoGeneral Hospital in Vanderhoof, BC. There she met a certain young man, Burton Giesbrecht, who had come in from the bush with an injury. They managed to fall in love and were eventually married in 1954 in Yarrow BC. Burt lost a finger that year but gained a beautiful partner and wife - a good trade-off we'd say! The two then moved to Kelowna and proudly raised their family of two boys. There, Lillian not only staunchly supported many camping and skiing escapades but also lectured at Okanagan Bible College, held Good News bible Clubs in her home for neighborhood kids, was actively involved in hospital pastoral care, Senior outreach programs and various women's support er friends.
