OSCAR LLOYD KLEPPE

May 17,  1918 - December 11, 2014

Oscar passed away suddenly at the age of 96. He was born May 17, 1918 in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan. Was raised on a farm and at a young age, he was playing hockey. He joined the Air Force in 1941. He met Alice Watson, the love of his life, in Fort MacLeod during training. They married July 24, 1943. The Air Force was Oscar's career until 1971, with Alice by his side. They had one son and one daughter.  The family enjoyed the Air Force life and were camping and fishing enthusiasts. After 30 years service, they found their Dream Retirement Home in Winfield, where Oscar resided until his passing. Hockey was his second Love. All through his years in the Forces and Retirement, he played hockey well into his 70's and ref'd several years after. In his later years, he enjoyed the Horseshoe Club and playing Crib, which he seemed to be quite lucky at. He also looked forward to the Tuesday dinners at the Senior's Centre during the winter. He was very content with his life, and often said not to worry "everything is tick-a-dee-boo". He is survived by his son John (Charlotte) of Ardrossan, AB; and daughter Judy (Rudy) Jackle of Rocky Mountain House, AB. Four Grandchildren; Five Great Grandchildren; and One Great Great Grandchild. Two Sisters; One Sister-in-Law; several Nieces and Nephews. And very special Friends Dwight and Leona; and Ben and Margret. He was predeceased by his wife Alice in 2007; a younger brother and parents. Cremation entrusted to the care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, Kelowna. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting everdenrust.com 250-860-6440
