Strange, Lois
(1929 - 2017)
It is with lingering sadness but quiet relief that the family of Lois Strange (nee: Hobbs) announces her passing after several years of declining health. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Ted, and her children Janice (Aldo Del Re), Barbara (Bruce Ziff) and Warren (Laura Sullivan) as well as her grandchildren David and Julia, Hannah and Eli, Katie and James and her sister Margaret North of Victoria. Lois was born and raised in Manitoba before coming to Edmonton where she attended the University of Alberta. She worked as a flight attendant for Canadian Pacific Airlines before she met and married Ted in Edmonton, where their children were born. Ted was transferred to Montreal for a short period before they moved the family to Kelowna in 1966.
Lois worked for many years at Kelowna Secondary School, mostly in the library. She enjoyed travelling, skiing, sailing and the company of her friends, in particular friends Catherine, Kay and Joan. The family will hold a reception in her memory on Sunday, March 19th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Everden Rust Funeral Home, 1910 Windsor Road.
