Lucy passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 9, 2009. She will be sadly missed by her son Donald, his wife Pat, her grandchildren Dennis (Jennifer) Kirkey and Shannon (Ryan) Toso and her two beautiful great-granddaughters Jayden Toso and Ashley Kirkey. Lucy was born in Cambridge, Ontario on March 13, 1920. She was predeceased by her husband Ashley (1986), her parents Bertha and John Nadeau, her four older brothers Richard, Laurent, Raynald and Aurele and her dear twin sister Lucille Bennett, who recently passed away on December 29, 2008. Lucy moved to Kelowna from Calgary in 2002 and enjoyed walking, shopping and playing bridge, dice, dominoes, cards and bingo with the ladies at the Wedgewood. A special thank you to the wonderful staff and residents of the Wedgewood for their kindness, friendship and support and to the caring people at Interior Health Community Support Services, the Palliative Response Team and the Village at Smith Creek who made Lucy’s final days more comfortable. A combined memorial service will be held at a later date in Cornwall, Ontario with her twin sister’s family.
