GANT, MARGARET GAEL

Gael was born June 19, 1936 in Montreal and passed away August 17, 2014 in Kelowna with family by her side. Gael is predeceased by her parents Mary Gertrude “Trudy” and Albert Barfoot; her siblings Earle and Garth “John”; and husband (divorced) Paul Wood. She is survived by her husband Glenn Gant, and her sons Mark Wood of Kelowna, Stephen Wood of Summerland and Roy Wood (Melinda) of Vernon; and her grandchildren (Roy) Jordan, Tarrah; (Mark) Samantha, Stephanie, Travis; (Stephen) Mary, Joey, Cayden, Amber and Kimberley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Gael moved from Quebec to Kelowna in 1976 with her boys.  She married Glenn on August 26, 1980 in Red Deer. Gael preferred road trips and camping out to staying at home. She loved people, but didn’t socialize as much because she didn’t want to be a bother to anyone. Throughout her life she donated to various charities. She also enjoyed attending interdenominational religious services. The family would like to thank the staff of Three Links Manor for their care of Gael in her last years of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice. A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 2-3 p.m. at Everden Rust Funeral Services & Crematorium, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna.
