PETERS, MARIA
Of Kelowna, BC, passed away on August 21, 2012 at the age of 92 years, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Survived by her loving husband Peter of 71 years of
marriage; five children: Gordon (Shirley) Peters, Martha (Harry) Koop, Frank (Shirley) Peters,
Gloria (George) Boyle, Frances (Albert) Lemire; eleven
grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her sister Margaret Zimmerman and brother Dave Letkeman. Maria was born on March 19, 1920 in Renata, BC. She met Peter, her
husband to be and they were married September 1, 1940
in southern Manitoba. They later moved to back to Renata and raised their family there until 1966, then moved to
Matsqui where they farmed until they moved to Winfield in 1970. After Peter retired they moved to Kelowna. No matter where they lived, Maria always enjoyed her gardening.
Many thanks to the staff at Sutherland Hills for their
excellent care of both Maria and Peter. A memorial service will be held on August 28, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Church of God, 3705 Mission Springs Drive, Kelowna, BC.
