WADE, MAUREEN ELLA
August 16, 1939 ~ January 31, 2014
Born in Spirit River, Alberta to John and Alice Wade.
Survived by brother Larry (Patti); three children Shane
(Chera), Stuart and Erica; eight grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren and her longtime companion and
partner, David Barclay. Working in the business world as
an accounting person, Maureen was also a talented painter, sculptor, ceramic artist, silver/goldsmith and a faceter of
fine gemstones. She and David travelled to many gem
and mineral shows, exhibiting and selling stone and
handmade jewellery. She was an active member of
lapidary clubs wherever she lived serving on executives
at local, zone and national levels. Fiercely independent to the end, she passed away with dignity and courage on her terms at the Central Okanagan Hospice House surrounded by loving caring people and friends. A Memorial gathering will be held on April 26th, 2014 in the Winfield Memorial
Hall from 2-5 PM. No flowers please, memorial donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House in her memory would be appreciated. Condolences may
