Maysie Payne of Westbank, BC passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 72 in Kelowna, BC. Maysie was born in Edson, Alberta, raised in the farming community of Haddock. At age 15 her family moved to Yakima, Washington, USA. Later she married and had 3 children. In 1972 she returned to Lethbridge, Alberta where she worked as a secretary and raised her children. In 1985 she fulfilled her dream and moved to Kelowna, BC. Maysie was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church and very loving, devoted grandmother. She is predeceased by her son, Danny Wehount; brothers, Leroy and Robert Payne; father, G. Kent Payne and mother, Karleen Payne. Maysie is lovingly remembered by her sister, Lois Benge (Jackie); daughters Sarah Arseneault Angie Stafford, Corrina McGrath, Danny-Ray Arsenault (Jenna), Kelly Elliot Amanda Elliot (Terry), Deanne Elliot (Rainy), Shayne Elliot (Wendy), Karissa Mann and Cody Mann; great grandchildren Miranda, Brittany, Amanda, Jesse, Dallas, Brett, Austin, Marcus and Madison; sister-in-law Jeanette Payne; one niece and six nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2547 Hebert Rd, Westbank, on Friday July 4th, 2008 at 1:30pm with interment to follow at Peachland Cemetery.
