CROSS - MELODY ANN

(nee MacDougall) of Kelowna. Born in Vancouver, October 24, 1950, Left us peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital on the evening of November 19, 2009, with her family by her side. Survived by Bill, her husband of 38 years, son Richard (Melissa) of Roberts Creek, son Taylor (Christine) of Kelowna, sister Devon Schmid (Bernie) of Courtenay, brother Rob MacDougall (Leslie) of Richmond and her special Aunt, Joyce Haylett of Vancouver. Also survived by her little Havanese buddy, Fidel. She was an amazing person who was always cheerful and saw the good in everyone she met. A devoted mother and wife, she travelled with Bill around BC giving up several career opportunities along the way. Besides working with the city of Richmond, Interior Health and the BC Government Employees Union, she was always volunteering for something. She was

instrumental in starting the CPR society in Richmond in the late 70's, She was active in both the Richmond and Kelowna Hospital Auxiliaries. In the last few years, she took special interest in fund raising for the Kelowna S.P.C.A. She was a self - trained expert in tropical and salt-water fish and became known as the "Fish Lady" at Wal-Mart and later at Pet City in Kelowna. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 5th at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre at 1091 Coronation Avenue Kelowna.
