Milena (Millie) Mary
Buckley passed away peacefully in the presence
of her family on June 18, 2013 at Sutherland Hills Rest Home at the age of 96.
Millie will be lovingly
remembered by her two sons Leo (Kathy) and John (Judy), and her beloved grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and
by her sister Connie (Mike) Amantea of Calgary. Millie was predeceased by her husband Frank, her daughter Rita, her sisters Dora,
Isa and Lil and her brothers Don and Fred.
Millie and Frank moved to Kelowna 50 years ago after
Frank retired from the armed forces. Together they
operated an orchard and vineyard in the Mission area.
She enjoyed traveling, bowling and needlepoint. Her home was always open to friends and relatives. Her cooking and warm hospitality always ensured company would return again and again. A Mass of Celebration will be held at
St. Charles Garnier Church, 3645 Benvoulin Road on
Monday June 24, 2013 at noon with Father Gerald
Sekanga officiating. Interment is to follow at Lakeview
Cemetery. Memorial donations in Millie’s name to your
favourite charity would be appreciated. Arrangements
