Nancy was one of twelve children, and she often spoke of her years growing up on the family farm. She enjoyed going to many dances with her sisters and brothers. She had many wonderful stories she told to her children of those
early years. Nancy married her husband Ben in 1936. Ben joined the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and lost his life in 1944. Nancy worked in Edmonton, AB while raising their children. In 1956, she moved to Yellowknife, NWT where she worked as a bookkeeper for several firms. She enjoyed living in the North, and often said some of her fondest memories were of those years.
Nancy moved to the Okanagan in 1976. Some of her
greatest joys were oil painting, gardening and the family
get-togethers in her home. She had such a kind and happy nature and a lovely smile for everyone. Nancy will be
lovingly remembered and greatly missed. We were blessed to have had her in our lives.
Much gratitude goes to the wonderful staff at the David Lloyd Jones Home for their compassionate care while
Nancy was there.
No service will be held as requested by Nancy. Cremation will take place and Nancy's ashes will be properly placed by Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Valleyview Funeral Home. 250-765-3147.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the
Alzheimers Society would be appreciated.
