Norman Kesteven Pete Loyd born in Walhacin, BC August 12, 1913, passed away on July 2nd, 2008. Pete was a long time resident of Kelowna, moving here in 1918 with his parents A.K. and Ivy Loyd. Left with wonderful memories are Anne, his wife of 58 years, daughter Rona (Jock) Hawkey, sons Dave (Jackie) and Jim (Brenda); grandchildren Bryan (Jessica), Allison(James), Gareth, Curt and Spencer. After attending school in Kelowna Pete moved to England in 1932 to work as a test driver for Daimler. In 1936 he joined the RAF and flew in Coastal Command between 1939-45. Pete returned to Kelowna to become the manager of Kelowna Industrial Supply before retiring to enjoy his family, friends and various hobbies. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 7th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1211 Sutherland Avenue. Memorial donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, Suite 202, 1456 St. Paul Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.
