It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Linda Husch, on November 15, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2005 and her daughter Patricia Ann in 1953, her parents Fred and Amelia Deutscher, her brother Edwin Deutscher and her sister Erna Mallach. She is survived by her children Janet (Gerry) Wourms, Ken (Faye), Joanne (Richard) Madden, and Karen (Kim) Lindsay. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Kevin Wourms (Carla Thoreson), Charlene (Bryan) Pomfrey, Alanna Husch, Robert Husch, Jim Madden (Shvonne Hasan), Katrina Madden (Cliff McGregor), Alyssa Madden, Christopher Lindsay and Evan Lindsay, and her two great grandchildren: Chaylynn and Carsyn Pomfrey. Also survived by her sister Edna Deutscher, sister-in-law Irene Deutscher, brother-in-law Stan Husch, numerous nieces and nephews, and many very dear friends. Mom was born in Burstall, Saskatchewan but made her home in Rutland for 60 years. She was involved in many charities and organizations, some of which included Girl Guides of Canada, Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Rutland Fire Department, Red Cross and Rutland’s 100th Birthday Celebrations. Mom’s love of life showed in her ability to step in and volunteer wherever needed; she was always up for a game whether it be Yahtzee with the girls, bowling with the team, Canasta with the grandchildren, Trivial Pursuit and other games with her new friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Kelowna General Hospital ICU and 4 East for their compassionate care. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 7 – 8:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna,BC with memorial service on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 10:00 am at the same location.
