RUNOLFSON, PALL SIGURBJORN

It is with sadness we

announce the death of Pall

Sigurbjorn Runolfson on

Thursday, February 6, 2014

after a short battle with cancer.

He died peacefully at Hospice

House with family by his side.

Pall was born to Sigurbjorn

and Marie Runolfson at Lundar, Manitoba on June 18, 1923.

He was predeceased by his

parents; brothers Barney, Alex, Steve and sister Josie.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Verna, son Paul, daughter Paula Newbury; grandsons Daniel and Jeff

Newbury; great-grandsons Gabriel, Logan and Seth

Newbury all of Kelowna; nieces Barbara Hintz of Victoria and MaryAnne Rutledge of Winnipeg; nephews Leslie and Jim Runolfson of Lundar, Manitoba. Pall’s life was an

adventure, lived fully. It included traveling on ice roads in northern Manitoba for commercial fishing, working for

CNT in Whitehorse, Yukon and many years on the Alaska Highway and visiting Hawaii, China and Mexico.

Special thanks to Dr. Koss the many nurses at KGH

and Hospice who took wonderful care

of Pall during his last few days. Special thank you to the friends and family who have and continue to provide their love and support during this difficult time. In keeping with Pall’s wishes cremation has taken place.

A family celebration of Pall’s life will be held later.
