KEATING - PEARL DELORIS

It is with great sadness the family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Pearl Deloris Keating, Saturday, May 31, 2014. Deloris died peacefully with her husband and partner of 61 years at her side at Kelowna General Hospital. Cherished mother and loving wife, she is survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Thomas. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, she trained as a nurse at Saint Boniface, Grey Nuns Hospital and practiced in Port La Prairie, Manitoba. There she met her husband Walter and was married the 28th of February 1953. Happiest when surrounded by her family and friends, much of her time was devoted to communicating with her widely dispersed family. Among her many passions, Deloris was a fabulous cook, a talented gardner, an active volunteer in her children's many activities, as well an accomplished and creative needle work artisan. A Celebration of Deloris life will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave on Friday, June 6th, 2014 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kelowna SPCA in memory of Deloris. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com, click on stories and type in Pearl Keating.
