PNINA (PENNY) PARRY

Pnina (Penny) Parry, born 1921. Passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital in the early hours of March 23, 2014. Penny was born in Poland in 1921. Her mother was a dentist and her father was a successful businessman.

Penny was proficient in 9 languages and had a very sharp mind that stood her in good stead throughout her life.

During WWII she served in the British Army in the Middle East as a Sgt. In the UK her commanding officer was

Mary Churchill (Sir Winston’s daughter) Just after the war she married her sweetheart Philip. In 1952 they emigrated

to South Africa, where she was the personal assistant to the CEO of Saaiplaas Gold Mine for many years. They moved to Canada1999 and settled in Kelowna in 2004 where Philip passed away in 2006 after 60 years ofmarriage. Until very recently Penny was very active on

her trusty computer and socialized with her good friends.
