went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2009 at the age of 89. Survived by his loving wife Irmgard Lena; three daughters Val (Paul) Konig of Salt Spring Island, Keri Martens of Port Moody and Pam (Steve) Xanthopoulos of Jackson, TN; four sons Cory Epp, Reynold (Susan) Epp, both of Kelowna, Derek Epp of Vancouver, David (Rose-ann) Nichols of
Dawson Creek; 12
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and brother Ernest John (Amanda) Epp of Kenora, ON. Sadly
predeceased by two
brothers David & Bill Epp, son Harley Epp and
granddaughter Tamara
Martens. Working primarily as a master mechanic and vocational educator throughout his career, in 1985 he
retired from his position as vice-principal of Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek. He was well known in the international Mennonite community as an author, noted for his scholarship in its languages, history and
literature. His hobbies were myriad: woodcraft, all things mechanical, hunting, fishing, boating and even preparing jams, pickles and soups. He enjoyed camping and
travelling with his wife,
Irmgard, throughout North America and Europe. He was a devoted family man and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm with a
musical prelude starting at 1:30 pm at First Mennonite Church, 1305 Gordon Drive, Kelowna with Dr. Harry
Loewen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite
