Passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.  Bob will be sorely missed by his wife, Marianne, his two children, Sally Davidson (husband Rik Kristjansson) of Toronto, and Greg (wife Troy) of Winnipeg, brother Sid, sister Alice and several nieces and nephews.  Bob was born in Winnipeg in 1925 where he attended Gordon Bell High School.  On New Year’s Eve of 1943 Bob joined the war effort, serving as Sergeant in the Air Bomber Special Group of the Royal Canadian Air Force until the war ended in 1945.  He spent his entire career with Simmons Ltd., working as a salesman in Calgaryand Edmonton, and as General Manager of the Winnipeg Office and western Canada division for many years.  Predeceased by his first wife Bernice in 1966, Bob married Marianne (nee Maciver) in 1968.  Following his retirement, Bob and Marianne moved toKelowna where he engaged in his passion for golf and enjoyed life to the fullest, employing his well-known sense of humour.  The family would like to extend their warm regards and thanks to Dr. William Mackle of Kelowna, for his kind efforts during Bob’s illness.  At Bob’s request, no memorial service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully received.
