MUOI "MAY" SOAI HUYNH

Beloved wife, sister and mother, Muoi Soai Huynh passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the age of 54, after a brave battle with cancer. She is survived by mother Lang Lam; husband Kim Huynh; children Abi Huynh, Amanda (Brian McIlvaine) Huynh, and Allan Huynh; siblings Lien La, Cam (Evans) Lee, Mai (Henry) Trinh, Na (Cuong) Hoang, Van La, Debbie Lam and Allien Lavienan; and twenty-three nieces and nephews. She was

predeceased by her father, Hong La.

Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on December 8, 1957, Muoi grew up there with six sisters, adopted brother and

numerous cousins. In 1980, Muoi and four sisters were sponsored to Canada by a church in Richer, Manitoba, where they were looked after by the Bourgouin family.

In 1981, Muoi moved to Lethbridge, Alberta and married

Kim Huynh on January 28, 1983.

Muoi lived in Lethbridge for 21 years, there she worked at Lilydale Hatchery for 20 years, raising three children. Muoi, her husband and youngest son moved to Kelowna in 2002, where she was the head waitress and restaurant manager at Mizu Japanese Restaurant (formerly Mini O-Zeki). Muoi loved her time serving customers at Mizu and enjoyed

seeing friends and regular customers whom she greeted with a warm smile. She was fond of trips to Vancouver to visit her children and vacations to Lethbridge to visit family. Her generous spirit and loving character will always be

remembered.

The family would like to thank her doctors for all their help; Doctors Pasenau, Davies, Carter, Wall, Solano, the staff at the BCCA and the nurses at the KGH.
