ON JANUARY 11, 2009, we had an encounter with an angel... Stella Norma Katherine Rietveld was born in the evening, but passed peacefully in the loving arms of her parents Leo and Shelley in the early morning hours of January 12th, 2009. Though her life was brief, Stella inspired and captured the hearts of so many; family, close friends and KGH professionals alike. Stella will be mourned by her parents, Leo and Shelley, by her big brother, Isaac, by grandparents, Norma, Katherine and John and will be united with her late grandfathers, Leo Sr. and Dan. She will certainly also be missed by her aunts and uncles, Derek, Kelly and Sandy, Tim and Lisa and her cousins, Summer, Noah and Logan. A small private family service was held. The family plans a celebration of life event to be held sometime in the spring.
