Sverre (Sam) Knut Born August 2, 1918 in Frogn, Norway. Died March 31, 2008 in Kelowna, BC. Survived by Margaret Ruth, wife of 58 years, son; Tony (Bev); daughter Ingrid, grandchildren Tess, Anna and Evan, all of Kelowna, brother Kjell, sisters, Aase, and Ellen Marit, and many other relatives in Norway. He was a veteran of WWII and emigrated to Canada in 1955. His curving staircases are found in many custom homes he built on the Lower Mainland and Kelowna. He was an avid member of Sons of Norway, and the Kelowna Chess Club, also donating his time to many other community organizations. A celebration of his life will be held on April 12, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. A gift in living memory of Sverre will be made to Holding Hands for Hospice by Springfield Funeral Home.
