It is with great sadness that we announce Valerie went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2009. She passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side. She was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 21, 1916. Valerie will be sadly missed and forever loved by her daughter Kathy (Gary) Hayes of Kelowna; grandson John (Jannel) Hayes of Kelowna, grandson and granddaughter Douglas and Laura Findlay of Pointe Claire, Quebec. Sadly predeceased by her husband Jack (1983), daughter Carol Findlay (1991) and granddaughter Tammy Hayes (2003). The family would like to give a very big thank you to all the wonderful staff members at Sun Pointe Village (Reids Corner) who gave her such loving care for the past four years and especially during her final days with us. There will be no service by request. Her ashes will be placed next to her husbands inWest Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
