passed away December 20, 2008 at the age of 85.  Survived by his loving wife, bestfriend, soulmate Elizabeth and two sons: David (Jeanne) of Victoria, Robert (Colleen) of Edmonton; four grandchildren.  Vern served as a Chief Petty Officer in Royal Canadian Navy in WWII.  After the war Vern began a 40 year career in photography and cinematography.  He was known for his pioneering work in slow-motion photography during the 1960’s.  His work during the Calgary Stampede was viewed around the world.  After moving to Kelowna in 1970, he spent several years as a photographer for CHBC – TV and continued his hobby of photography well into his retirement.  No service by request.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C.
