NELSON, WENDY ANNE

Wendy Anne Nelson, of Kelowna, died peacefully at home on October 24, 2014. Born April 26, 1942 in Kamloops, Wendy moved to Kelowna in 1974. She was a self-employed public accountant for 32 years. Wendy was active in provincial and local politics, local business organizations, and the Rutland Park Society. Wendy loved her children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed gathering her family together. She was an avid gardener. Wendy saved many homeless cats. Wendy was predeceased by her parents William (Pat) and Joan (Whiting) Paterson, her brother Donald Paterson, and her sister Rowena Nelson. Wendy is survived by her daughters Tamara Nelson and Susan (Fred) Goertzen, and son Shawn (Nikki) Nelson; her granddaughters Alexandra Nelson, Robbi (Joel) Day, grandsons Jesse Nelson, Lane Goertzen, and Dayton Nelson; her great-grandchildren Sydney Day and newborn Annie Nelson. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Dr. Michael Koss and Sheila Walroth, longtime friend and nurse, for their caring support during Wendy’s illness. No service will be held.
