WILLIAM (BILL) R. MCNABB It is with heavy hearts that the family of William (Bill) R. McNabb announce his passing on June 17, 2015 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 90 years. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Joan; son Bill (Sue); daughter June (Dave) Bianchini; daughter-in-law Kiffy; grandchildren Billy, Todd (Nikki), Butch, Dickie, Tricia (Brock), and Sean (Sarah); great grandchildren Meghan and Ryan; and sister-in-law Elaine. He was predeceased by his loving son, Dick; parents Bill and Luella McNabb; two sisters Gladys and Luella; and two brothers Robert and Russell. Bill was born in Canuck, Saskatchewan in 1925. He married Joan in 1946, and they raised their family in Climax, Saskatchewan. He served in WWII with The Canadian Scottish Regiment, and was a prisoner of war survivor. Bill was a carpenter all his life. After moving to Kelowna in 1973, he worked for Homco and then Décor Doors in Westbank, BC. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Saskatchewan, and an active Royal Canadian Legion member. Even though he suffered a stroke in 2008, he continued to help with the poppy campaign every year.
