Penticton Vees shutout West Kelowna 6-0 in second win of series

Warriors will have to try and dig themselves out of this hole on home ice Monday

The Penticton Vees used five power play goals in the second period to earn a 6-0 shutout victory over the West Kelowna Warriors in Game #2 of the B.C. Hockey League’s Interior Conference Final and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Vees absolutley dominated the Warriors on home ice in front of a huge crowd of 3,672 at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Similar to the night before, the Vees took advantage in the second period and scored five goals in the middle frame beginning with a power play goal from Josh Nadeau who scored his team leading eighth marker of the playoffs to give the Vees a 1-0 lead at 2:36 mark of the second period.

The Vees finished off the game in the third period with their fifth power play goal of the game as Luc Wilson notched his fourth goal of the playoffs courtesy of a five-on-three power play.

The Warriors will have to dig themselves out of their losing hole on home ice at Royal LePage Place Monday, May 2. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. with the game being broadcast live on Bounce Radio 800 as well as streamed online on BCHLTV.ca.

Kaeden Lane was perfect on the night for Penticton, turning aside each of the 20 shots thrown his way in his ninth win of the playoffs and first career postseason shutout while Johnny Derrick turned aside 32 of the 38 shots thrown his way in his fourth loss of the playoffs.
